A Macaron-workshop at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Budapest 

img_6066-1The Ritz Carlton in Budapest offers free macaroon workshops. These normally take place on a Friday between 1-2 PM. It is fun in a very nice surroundings. You have the chance to mix, form and fill and of course taste the macaroons you have made. You do get the recipe for the macaroons, but I’m not quite sure if they will succeed that same way at home like in a big industrial kitchen with all the high-end equipment. But it is definitely a great experience and a lot of fun which might end with a little sugar shock if you are not disciplined enough.

Foodtruck Court Budapest Üllői út

Found this Foodtruck court separated only by a big gate from one of the busiest city roads in Budapest. We tried a beef-vegetable-plum-peanut-soup, which was really nice and had a pulled pork sandwich with sweet-and-sour onion-chutney and cabbage chutney in a crusty ciabatta. Everything home made.After that the owner of the BBQ-truck invited us for a bowl of sweet-gnocchi with plum chutney combination from one of the other trucks. Had a nice “fröccs” as a drink, made with red wine (but more common to have it here with white wine), what you call in Germany Spritzer and is wine with soda water and is very refreshing ?
